Looks like you're on geothermal, IS, and you're the lucky household responsible for putting the thermal in the geo for your district this year.

Firstly, it's of two good friends and clubmates who are the smiliest, most supportive runners (though by no means the fastest) in the club, and their photo is being used to promote the Torre Half in February (they had no idea until another friend received the email). And secondly, somewhat ironically, because that Half has a 2.5 hour cut-off and they were hovering on cut-off time and were being shooed along quite aggressively by the sweeper wagon - and when they got to the finish, they *were* outside the 2.5 hours so weren't given a medal And yet the Torre council use them as poster girls... (They're going back this year anyway. It's too enjoyable a weekend not to, if we're allowed by covid.) This photo, for several reasons. |

That IS lovely, LD, apart from them being denied a medal. That's a pretty tight cutoff.

Funnily enough, I've just received an email about that race (ran it three times). Maybe one for 2023. Bit mean about the medal but I did see when I ran it people on the results a bit past the 2:30.

Merry Fizzmas :-)
They should email and ask for their medals in lieu of royalties.

As it happens MF the club is still owed our prize money - we were the winning club two years running but have never (despite quite a lot of nagging) seen hide nor hair of it!!

Evidence that big may not always be best: Crosby Plaza Community Cinema put on a screening of a 'Spiderman' movie for a teenager whose immune system is seriously compromised by treatment he's receiving for cancer. A local multiplex cinema quoted £800 for the hire. The Plaza charged nothing. champnews.com |
