WAVA is the future (unless you're under about 19)! :-) G

Controversial suggestion... why don't they just get rid of good for age times and have good for WAVA?!

That does make sense PJH. When I last looked a few years ago the GFA times were a little unfair WAVA wise for 55-59 year old women and men.

I do love the fact that the preponderance of middle aged men who run means your 50s is the hardest time to get good for age!

The worrying thing is itโ€™s much easier at 60. As a 57 year old, their stats are suggesting Iโ€™m about to fall off a cliff.

As a 54 year old, my running performance suggests I have just fallen off a cliff :-(

I only made it to 40 before I fell off the performance cliff :-(

I haven't fallen off a cliff yet (almost 59). Getting a bit slower, but getting older faster than I'm getting slower so my WAVAs are trending upwards. I recognise that this is unlikely to continue forever.

Since i've been a mediocre runner for 15 years before i ramped up the training, i haven't seen the decline yet, so it has served me well being a slouch, until a bit in to my forties :)
So i think i have a few years of improvements in me still. :)

I was lucky that a health check spotted my heart condition in my 50s. If it hadn't I'm sure it would have had a more significant effect on my performance as I got into my 60s and I suspect that would not be unusual for people of that age. Make the most of it whilst you're young.
