Controversial suggestion... why don't they just get rid of good for age times and have good for WAVA?!

That does make sense PJH. When I last looked a few years ago the GFA times were a little unfair WAVA wise for 55-59 year old women and men.

I do love the fact that the preponderance of middle aged men who run means your 50s is the hardest time to get good for age!

The worrying thing is itโs much easier at 60. As a 57 year old, their stats are suggesting Iโm about to fall off a cliff.

I haven't fallen off a cliff yet (almost 59). Getting a bit slower, but getting older faster than I'm getting slower so my WAVAs are trending upwards. I recognise that this is unlikely to continue forever.

Since i've been a mediocre runner for 15 years before i ramped up the training, i haven't seen the decline yet, so it has served me well being a slouch, until a bit in to my forties So i think i have a few years of improvements in me still.

I was lucky that a health check spotted my heart condition in my 50s. If it hadn't I'm sure it would have had a more significant effect on my performance as I got into my 60s and I suspect that would not be unusual for people of that age. Make the most of it whilst you're young.
