All this talk of beans has reminded me of Moroccan loubia. Will post a recipe later.

Yes, gemista, fabulous! I had some excellent gemista on the Omalos plain in Crete one Easter.

Crete is a fresh-lovin’ foodie heaven.
On way back from Spanish deli now with dried gigantes and loubia, amongst other things.

I can’t find a loubia recipe online that matches the one I use. So … what I do is start the beans and other ingredients on the hob and then finish in oven, using oven dish with lid and parchment paper under lid to make a tight seal then cook slowly for 1-1.5 hours. There are plenty of recipes on line, but hob-only.

Bicester Parkrun last Saturday, only a couple of miles from Vegan Camp Out, so a few of us took part.
296 Vegan Runners in the results. If only the guy I met from the Netherlands had known what Parkrun was and had got a barcode in advance, we could have made it 297 Vegan Runners for event #297 on 29/7

Just come in here to have a moan... Been to see the oncologist in person today rather than on the phone. Thing is, she seems to have a phobia for plant based food: "we don't know how it interferes with the chemo". We are talking about a person who says garlic and turmeric aren't foods 😱 ok, supplements are one thing, but drinking fresh veg juice, eating salads and drinking smoothies??? *Rant over*
