57.5 Degrees of Pain
I disagree Steven. Hi-viz wastage is one of the many things an Uber tourist should berate volunteers for after driving 200 miles just to visit their event. Because said event's name begins with a letter which helps complete a really important 'challenge'.

Sorry Steven, I have to pull you up on one of your comments. There is *nothing* pointless about tea!

I feel the same about coffee Nessie. We will have to take a trip along the A96 to teach him a thing or two!

Cake, actually. Whether with tea or coffee. Parkrun is cakerun mostly in my book.
Addressing the climate crisis means changing everything. Yes it includes the computer I'm typing on but it's reasonable to call out a hundreds of thousand person influencing organisation for waste, even if you haven't fixed 100% of your own waste. But it's never reasonable to be rude about it, of course!
Personally, I think parkrun strike a pretty good balance. G

So I became mildly excited when I saw a new nearby course popping up on my parkruns home page. It's a prison. Of course I can't do it, but I do think it amusing that they use the same text for the course page as other parkruns. A few classics:
"Children under the age of eleven must be accompanied (within arm's reach) throughout the run by a parent, guardian or appropriate adult of the parent's choice" Er, not sure that's likely
"Please arrive by foot, by pedal-power or by public transport if you can - your efforts help to reduce our impact on the park and the planet" I'm sure they are very close to the start!
"It is not permitted to run with a pushchair and a dog at the same time." Good luck with that combination.
Seriously though, this seems to be one of the best things to come out of Parkrun, whoever decided to start one in a prison deserves an award.
