Carnage this morning! My normal slow lane had absolute tossers in it that would not do the normal circle share but insisted on swimming up and down on their own line. Even when I asked one of them to circle as there wasn't enough room he said no To make it worse one on them was doing bloody butterfly with paddles and fins!!! Luckily the smaller next lane over which were also not circle swimming were happy to change to make room for me. Turns out the fast lane was closed as a school swim club had taken it over so they'd invaded our slow lane. How sad that they had to be such dicks! Anyway, even though I started off grumpy I managed 20 lengths and had a laugh about it with the ladies in the changing room |

I feel your pain. There is one clown who occasionally turns up and does butterfly, he's a big guy and inevitably he ends up hitting people even though they are sticking to their own line. It's not a friendly stroke to do in busy lane.

I also feel your pain. We had a walker in the 'fast' lane yesterday. Well done though. Glad it was OK in the end

Cheers, both! The important thing for me is that I stuck it out rather than storming off in a huff. I just need to adjust days/times if it's a regular Tuesday morning thing.

The lido has just extended opening throughout the afternoon, having previously shut at 1. There were 3 of us in the pool between 2 and 3pm. Heaven. It'll get busier through the summer but lane etiquette is still pretty good overall thankfully.

Sitting at the poolside waiting by the fast lane for the session to start the other day I was admiring the swim cap of the woman next to me. I've since found it came from Decathlon decathlon.co.uk , the fins don't seem to be slowing her down, she's quick! I decided to get something funky too and these arrived in the post today: [from proswimwear.co.uk and although these were a bit more expensive than 'normal' swim caps, after factoring in postage they were cheaper from that website than from eBay.] |
