running in some nice, heavy, warm rain might be nice occasionally but imagine running in the dark, cold rain and drizzle all the time. Do we really think that there is benefit to that?

I suppose we could just ask the Scots, giggle.....

Velociraptor
There are some fast Scottish (and also Northern Irish) runners around at the moment to provide confirmation bias, WW :)

The only good thing about running in the rain is that you’re not cycling in the rain.

I’ve just come in from my run. Got soaked, I probably deserved it after that needle!

Now I can go in the shower, similar to a waterfall in many ways. Think about those training benefits. LOL.

I still shudder at one of my Sunday 20 mile runs when preparing for London. It was a horrible day, winds and icy driving rain. I was soaked through and I recall finding a public toilet open and tried to warm up by their hand dryer. All I could think of was getting home to a warm shower. I must have been close to hypothermia when I got home.

As I walked down the path I could see Mrs axe through the window and sensed she was unhappy at something. Got inside to find the boiler was goosed and no hot water.

I think I've got wet running every day for the last 7 or 8 days - rains a lot here, more so than on the east coast

Progressive 20M: out & back along the Monmouthshire & Brecon canal today.

Decent run although GPS went haywire for the final 10K so it became impossible to judge pace: felt like I was slowing from 17 but watch lap-pace was fluctuating from as low as 4:58 up to 10:30!!
It was 78:40 to 10 miles & the return was 76:15 though my watch tried to tell me I’d run an extra quarter mile in that time 😂
About 6 minutes slower than a year ago but legs were a lot fresher then.

Just checking in to report a 2:59:16 at Chicago today. Perfect conditions and magic shoes definitely helped but needless to say I am chuffed to bits 😀
