I was thinking that. Not a fallow patch in sight. My 13 years and 22K miles on Fetch have been as low as 800 miles in a year and months in a row of 0 miles, during injuries. Well done indeed Chrisu. :-) G

Nice mileage Chris. You've still got about 12,000 miles to go to catch up with Bazo - who's been averaging about 3,000 miles a year since he started posting here.

I will be well down on miles this year though BR. And I have had a few lower spells in that time due to injury

In other news I am starting to think I should do London given I cannot defer my gfa place. Probably as bonkers as larkim but in six weeks off 40 mpw ,longest of 13 miles and fastest pace around 8:33mm what is possible :-o

With all this enthusiasm I’m beginning to think I should do a marathon next week too. I did a 5k jog last week. What could possibly go wrong?

Although I have run 20 miles+ virtually every Sunday this year I still feel unprepared if the unlikely event that I am able to travel to Boston. I'm running slower that I have done in the last 15 years so I think a sub 3:15 would be completely unachievable.

Baz - I always used to go on , if I could run 17M LSR with no issues I could run a marathon.

Note run not race :-) Girly GFA or 3:30 max

No significant injuries you are correct, longest period is 4 days out due to injury. I don't tend to try and run through injuries, but I do try and get back out as soon as it stops hurting (as one of my worst injuries was caused by cramp in my calf, and it spasmed so hard it pulled the muscle badly, that was from sitting in my chair meeting a deadline for 3 days solid practically with no running/walking). In fact lack of exercise makes my back sore because of the day job. All this running doesn't include the dog walking too (which is while miles have declined recently and also Zwift is to blame this year).

Yes there are plenty of people in the top 100 (I'm 123 in the highest distance of all time on fetch), known to this thread who I won't be catching - Paul_a for starters, and Bazo. PTB seems a reasonable target, unless this spurs him into upping the miles!

great consistency Chris. I’ve also had more ‘downs’ than that over the years.

I’m also on a down couple of days. Got stung by a wasp on the calf on Wednesday and it’s now Incredible Hulk sized and bright red. Did try to jog last night but barely got past the front gate. This training thing looks so easy when you write it on a S’sheet several months in advance!!

See you on the start line Baz 😀.

As long as you don’t think that it’ll cause further injury and that you wouldn’t be too devastated with a 3:30 or something then I’m sure the race will be fine. It’s not exactly round the corner for you though, is it!?!
