Is there any way to convert iTunes to MP3? I've finally lost patience in the two dead iPods that I own and ordered an MP3. I have an external player which is great for watching DVDs, but it doesn't seem to recognise CDs (not sure why as it was touted as being for both. I also have an external hard drive that could probably store a fair amount of my music. Problem is, I have a huge amount of music downloaded to iTunes that I'd rather not lose. But also, every time I try to upload a CD, it fires directly in to iTunes. So basically, I can't transfer anything until I bin iTunes and I'd rather not do that until I've moved it all to MP3. |

LMGTFY support.apple.com According to this, you should be able to, within iTunes, be able to convert your existing music files (I'm presuming that they are in AAC, that is, the standard Apple format) to mp3s. In fact, you still still retain all your existing AAC files, and have a new set of mp3 files. Additionally, iTunes should be able to produce mp3 files from your cds, if set to do so. Worth a look at your new players specs to see if it might play AAC anyway, and if it has sufficient memory, see if you could use a superior format like FLAC. |

Best value of any of the subscription services I have is Spotify. It's 10 quid a month but via my phone provider, and I love it. I listen to music every day, reading in bed, while making tea, on train in car or even while working. And I can choose ANYTHING. I love it! So much better than when I was digitising CDs and syncing up MP3s on multiple devices. And for the cost of 1 album per month? G

With you on that Happy - though I use the Apple Music subscription, since switching I've never been tempted to go back and as you say - less than the cost of 1 album a month

Even better value when you have a family of 6 - the family subscription is £14.99 a month, but with completely separate accounts for all of us. I don't know what my kids would do without unlimited spotify access, and myself and my better half use it all the time too.

My friend, who is something in "customer experience" for Spotify will be pleased to hear that you think it's good value!

The big fun thing with a Spotify family plan is that it automagically makes a Family Playlist of everyone's favourite tracks, so you can just bung that on in the car and everyone's happy.
