Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ian, there are some threads (for example, one-off "for sale" posts that have been fulfilled, info about a cancelled race in 2014 or even this one fetcheveryone.com/forum/how-sexy-does-this-look-49126/1 where the link is long gone) which just don't seem to be worth a tag of any kind.

Is it best just to leave these untagged, or should they get some sort of "archive" tag? I know there's a small risk of a thread inadvertently or deliberately being archived that way, but what do you think?

Question for the tag team. I have seen several threads in the last 24 hours which to my mind would benefit from a tag called "women" or "womens" to link them together. This would usually be in addition to other existing tag(s) such as "health" or "kit" and only when the person setting up the forum has differentiated the subject by using "women" or "girls" or similar in the thread title.

Is this acceptable or would it be seen as compartmentalising or un-PC or typical male or somesuch?

I was tempted to put “women” as a tag on the menopause thread but I didn’t want to start a gender-related argument. So, in answer to your question Synge, I don’t know.

I think that it would be good to have tag- links between threads that were discussing women/female/girl specific topics.

I have no objection to using women as the tag. I am not very good at knowing what is currently preferred terminology/PC

So, two "don't knows" so far.

We are trying to help forum users find threads that may be relevant to the thread they are looking at and I feel this would be a useful link tag. As I said above, it would be used in conjunction with other tags to help zero in on useful tags, I can't think of a situation where it would be the only tag on a thread.
