I'll put my hand up...Manchester, 14 April, aiming for anything starting with a 3. I'm at Farnborough half this Sunday which was originally going to be a swing at my PB and an extra effort to see if I could dip below 1:45, but as the weather forecast looks like gales and I haven't really done any half-specific training, I might just aim for a sensible tempo effort instead. |

That's awesome, CasB I've started a list. I hope you do get a good shot at your half PB on Sunday. theOtherRichard, I'll put you on the sidebar for MK when you know what your plans for that weekend will be. |

I think it's time for me to make a graceful withdrawal from this forum.... I decide London last year was my last marathon, and then went and did York afterwards! I enjoyed York a lot more, but I think it's safe to say my aspirational sub-4 days are gone, barring major changes to my life and running abilities. Have a lot of fun, folks! |

oh dear CasB I hadn't yet looked at the forecast for Farnborough. I'm doing that too. Mind you the only other time I did it, it was snowing. I'm aiming for a sub 4 and consequently a London GFA now I move up an age category. Hopefully it will be at the New Delhi marathon on Feb 25th. I had already booked a holiday in India when I saw this was on, so I couldn't resist it. However this is India where nothing is straightforward! Their website won't accept non-indian credit cards. Having contacted the organisers, they have a note of my name and they say I should be able to enter using cash at the expo on the day before the event. Obviously I would feel more comfortable with a confirmed entry, but we shall see! |

I'll be at Newport again. Mixed bag of training so far this year but a little over 3 months to improve.

Thanks Raptors claws are coming to town, for both sidebar and good wishes! Dibble New Delhi sounds like it'll be an amazing experience, will also look forward to hearing about it! And good luck for Farnborough too. They've stopped forecasting rain but it looks like it'll be proper blowy. And best wishes to Oscar the Grouch, hope you can string together the training you want. |

Good news, OtG And yes, loads of time! It's a bit sobering to think that if I'm really planning to target Belfast I should have already started a training plan. But I've only just stepped off the bench and need to make sure I can cope with five or six simple little runs a week before trying anything fancy. It was (almost certainly, strong correlation etc.) trying fancy things that caused the injury. |
