Eek less than a month now until next marathon (been keeping quiet but I entered Manchester and Leeds). I don't feel good about my training. Tentatively hoping for sub 4 at both but I felt much better prepared for York last year.

It sounds as you are feeling a bit like me hgreav. I ran a solid 1.39.37 on not the easiest course today but I still don't feel ready for marathon!!

My last twenty done today on flat trails after a 10km race yesterday. I had spent the morning at work on my feet and by 18 miles I could have easily called it a day but knowing it was the last one kept me going 😊

Very ready for the taper!

Anyone doing Brighton?

Well done. My last 20 was Saturday. Planning 16 trail this weekend and 2 hours easy on Easter weekend. Then whatever the marathon gods have planned.

Last long run today, now for the taper.
Still feeling ok, I intend to go for even splits starting off at 5.30 k's (about 8.50 mile pace), which should give me a cushion if crowds etc are a problem (as an aside, has anyone else noticed just how many people are in the wrong corral, seems more of a problem just lately)
Aiming for sub 4, but at best maybe a 3.50

I find one strategy towards even or negative split is to start in a pen 15 min slower than what I think I will do, and not get in a rush at the start.
