The winter after my last visit, Boscastle got badly flooded. That was around 20 years ago. I remember lots of upping and downing, and a lovely shop selling wood and stone craft objects, and wondering why Boscastle had never stuck in my mind when I'd been there as a teenager.

Stef mentioned the floods earlier. I’ve never been to this area at all. Barnstaple to St Ives is a mystery

It’s down a steep hill to get to the village. The views towards the sea are spectacular.

Well - if you're in the area ... More or less Crackington Haven to Boscastle to Tintagel to Treborwith Strand, 2014 Flora and fauna photos.app.goo.gl Sights photos.app.goo.gl We stayed here holidaycottage.com up above Boscastle. Was quite a trek back with the papers each morning. As you get to, or past, Boscastle, you may want to look up 2004, eg google.co.uk But, since you've already been through it, I think Lynmouth (1952) was far worse - at least in terms of casualties. google.co.uk |

I stayed on the Braunton Drain on my trip, GM. We also once had a week staying in a holiday cottage on Braunton Burrows. It was very wet. The area between Bude and Padstow is where I''ve spent most of my holidays over the last 10 years. Boscastle is lovely, especially if you walk up to the harbour mouth. There are an awful lot of shops selling absolute tat. The visitor centre is very good, as is the farm shop on the way out on the coast road to the North. It has direct access to the coast path. |

There are some steep drops on the path north of the Boscastle farm shop I mentioned |
