Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Today Mr Lemon made a chainsaw horse with some help from my Dad :-).

We had a three mile run this morning, it was sweltering and I walked a bit of it to be honest. I hope you have all had a good weekend.

L10 no idea what it is but well done hubby 😊

I ran Yorkshire 10k on Sunday, very bad day at the office 😞, too hilly for me terrain too mixed for me too baby loop backs I had a bad run and hated it! Came in just under 1.10 my worst 10k in quite some time. I have been going so well if late but this has made me feel a rubbish runner and fat to boot!! I made an amazing sprint finish, I have a both feet off pic but i have 8 more where my legs look like tree trunks! 😞🤔😡😡😡😡😡😡😤😫😫😩

Don't beat yourself up Nutso, you just picked the wrong event by the sound of it. Where was the mud, the barbed wire and the waist deep puddles that you know and love?! It is disheartening when you struggle at a race but don't let it spoil your day, plan the next one and learn what you can from this one! After an especially miserable time at the north Norfolk coastal race I tried in the winter I learned to avoid any races that include shingle beaches!

And speaking of tree trunks, the contraption so expertly made by Mr L is to put long logs on for chainsawing. We have been given some massive logs that are too long to go in our little wood burner, so he built this to rest them in so he can safely chain saw them into smaller logs. I may have to buy him a checked lumberjack style shirt to wear while he does the sawing!

Nut, well done for getting through your race. :) When I saw your result I thought that we could have been running together. ;-) Then I saw the course and thought how weird with all those little twiddly in and out bits. I bet you had some nice scenery though.
Lem, I hope you enjoyed your weekend acting supervisor. :)

I did my race and compared it to last year's, thinking I'd done a lot worse but it was actually virtually the same! The only thing I did better this year was to not walk, so how come I wasn't quicker?! :-p

I also saw PT this morning who got me doing lots more squats and lunges today as I told him that I was okay after last week's session. Another club run this evening of 4 miles, turned out to be only 3!

well done Nut, I yearn for a both feet off the ground pic!

Lem - photos of the lumber jack please ;-)
AR do make sure you watch for twinges in your knees with squats and lunges, I have to be really careful with them or I suffer for it.

Evening all, hope youre all well, I think I'm getting me mojo back, went out monday morning with the intention of running 4 miles and ended up doing just over 6, Ive got a 10K race coming up in Sept so decided to extend my run and get an idea of my pace etc, unforntunately as my garmin is set to miles and I couldnt remember what the exact distance in miles 10K's was, I mean I knew it was around 6.2 miles ish, anyway ended up running round the cul de sac I live in a few times just to make sure, neighbours must have thought i'd gone mad :)

L10 thank you 😊 Well that's a good point so unlike me to not have mud to play in! My next event is a fun one 5k zombie obstacle run can't wait 💪🏻😊👍🏻. Eek shingle doesnt sound much fun, ooh is that what it is very useful then.

Alpen lol 😊 Scenery really was pretty for the countryside bit that I do confess! Well done in your race sounds like you should be very pleased 😊

Mulbs tricks to spot the camera man 😉

Stew fab 😊

Hi All - Just popped in to see you all.

This morning I couldn't rouse myself to get up! That's not normal for me. Usually up between 5.00 and 6.00 am. Consequently I went out late for my run. Still felt tired and decided to do a short one anyway - should have been 8 miles. Surprised myself by doing over 7!

The rest of my day has been well and truly pushed out of shape so I am now into catch up mode.

Fragile Do Not Bend
Well that was an interesting group trail run! Firstly a load of us went the wrong way whilst the group leader supervised the others crossing the railway. It meant we had to battle a load of shoulder height vegetation twice and completely unnecessarily.

Then one of the ladies decided to go into the undergrowth to have a wee and fell down a bank and needed to be hauled out. She was OK but still needed a wee, so we formed a protective circle with our backs turned, and sang loudly whilst she had a tinkle! :D
