Happy with my PB at Cumbernauld 10k today, not as flat as I thought it was going to be, lots of gentle slopes along the course and not a lot of it totally flat. Very well organised event from what I saw; signage, parking, start/finish area, race instructions, water stations were all excellent, especially the signage from the parking to the start area.

I ran the first ever Gateway to the Glens 10k in Kirriemuir today. About 50% road and 50% trail. If I'd known the trail secion would be so dry I'd have used road shoes. The last k was tough, steep drop and steep climb back up, and course a bit short as the Garmin measured just under 6.1 miles. I'm happy to take 6th place in any race, but there weren't many club vests on show, apart from a strong contingent of Forfar Road Runners

Yes Fergus, the elusive 80% is just JUST outa grasp. Maybe next weekend at the Scottish Half, more my distance than a 10k.

Well done Saop anyway. Good racing. Damo, stellar as ever.
Lovely day at the Auchterarder half yesterday. Saw mad4it I think. Sunny, super supported, scenic, Scottish running - doesn't get much better actually! And starting and finishing at Gleneagles was pretty amazing. They had us at the Arena (horses and tennis) but finished up the drive of the hotel and golf course. Lots of great support.
Changing and coffee facilities after were great. Goody bag with beer and choc bars and banana, nice t-shirt. Really well done by Five Star Active - not just an events company, but a local running and fitness club. And it showed! G

STOOSH
Mhor hidden glen 10k a nice scenic race with 80% offroad. Had a nice feel to it with a fun run for the kids as well as a free pint for all finishers and a bbq and other food stalls. Just don't wear your best shoes as the won't stay clean for long

Agree with STOOSH ^^. Mhor Hidden glen is a gem of a race. STOOSH forgets to mention the +1000ft of climbing. Not an easy course, but really enjoyable. Will be signing up for the next edition in April next year.
On another note, myself and a mate are organising a 10k run in the Pentlands at 9:30 on 28th October. Starting and finishing at Flotterstone. We'll be giving out some free stuff from ashmei and tribe and after the run heading to the Pentlands Café Express for coffee and cake. All welcome. This isn't a race, just a social run in the hills on a route that isn't over the summits, will suit all abilities.
If you are at a loose end and want some free 'stuff' come along. Would be great to see some old and new friends. Dress appropriately for the weather though!!
