Son of a Pronator Man
Most of the 15k course is hard packed trail or forest road made of broken stone. There is also some single track of grass worn into a path. There is one section in the 15k (I'm not sure of this is also part of the 5k), the so called "bog of doom" which is a 50 metre section of very wet sucky mud. There is one decent hill on the 15k course, about 4 miles in.

There is a race, and indeed a place, that I had never heard of. Too soon for me. One Fetchie, ever, is recorded as running it, in 2018. Listing added fetcheveryone.com/viewracedetails.php?id=3966922 |

I just saw something about Stirling marathon having a decent prize pot. thestirlingmarathon.co.uk Three cash prizes for each 10y vet category - I could almost turn up for a shot at that. But then again, the entry fee is almost as much as the prize, before I even factor in the travel. |

It's a good course, and, despite Great Run being a bit half-arsed about things last year, still seemed a pretty decent event. I expect this year's to be better And Stirling is a splendid place to visit, and there is a new park to do. Although, "Run the most picturesque marathon in the world!" might just be stretching things a bit. And the HM prize pot looks a bit puny, especially when it attracted as many (or more?) runners as the full marathon. |

Dvorak let's see how training goes, I should be back by then. Possible road trip for us That does look more like it from Stirling for an event they want to promote as a biggy. Well done them sticking neck out with fairly tasty prize pot. |

Does it count as a road trip if it's a place you could feasibly run to ?* However, as long as I don't fall apart in the interim, I'm definitely interested in the half. *Not that I would run to it! That would be madness. |

The route passes within 0.4 miles (as the crow flies) of my house, so don’t reckon I could call it a road trip
