Are you suggesting I'm in the same age group as Treena Wardi?!?

Ha Ha, nay nay & thrice nay LMH. I thought you might be interested to see how the top 'older' girls are getting on. Always encouraging to see elite older runners doing well given discussions on here about veteran bodies becoming more fragile. Pity we veterans can't have revival potions or the elixir of youth.

I have no benchmark 5k Wardi never having raced one apart from at the end of a sprint tri. I probably wouldn't have been as fast as Treena ten years ago!

Gérard- Lots of people go cold water dipping here (Cornwall), I can see the attraction. Malaga marathon is on the 15/12, a day before my 60th birthday! But I am going sea swimming on the 16th, the Med should be warm. TR - Unless there's a major rain storm - the 2016 race was called off due to flooding, should be around there.
Wardi - Sounds a great way to spend a Saturday morning. DT - That is good value on those AF1.
10.5 miles this morning on the Camel trail, with 6 guys from Newquay RC, 4 of whom are going to Malaga, 3 to run the HM, 1 the marathon. Warm morning came out 7.30-7.40 mm. 35m for the week. Will do 2 faster 5K sessions this week then that's the Malaga training more or less in the the bag, hopefully titled sub3. Added myself to the Seville marathon waiting list in the unlikely event places become available.

Wardi - you're going well now. You could be racing in January?
Ouch - sounds like a nice run today. Your race weather should be ok, as I'm not there.
After two real light weeks, time to build a bit of base at its Dec 1st. 10 x 3mins on the turbo, plus wu and wd.
Rained all morning here, would have been wet running laps of the motor circuit. But it's not cold.

Tr, good that you remain mobile, albeit uncomfortably so. Very mild this morning and I avoided the pouring rain.
Ouchouch, good going, only 2 weeks to Malaga so taper time now then?
Wardi, sensible call on parkrun, hopefully no after effects?
Re picking up the AF, I think it's just a matter of being consistent in looking at eBay, vinted and Facebook. There are some pairs on there for more than I've just paid for a good pair, that are practically falling apart do a matter of jumping in there when you recognise someone has under priced them.
Wife's birthday yesterday so drank a little to much last night. Nothing terrible but more than I shoukd have with a mixed pace long at 9.30 this morning. Had to ger out as we had family visiting after 11.
15m with 5-6, 9-10 and 13 at threshold. Struggled to run them a great deal faster than 6mm but it's a reasonable trade off to enjoy the birthday celebrations.
64m for the week. Next week there's a taper for the 10m race. Matt said we can discuss if I don't particularly want to give the race a good go but I've just had 3 good weeks and after this race it's 12 weeks to Tokyo so all in. Also there's a decent benefit in establishing some training paces in having a recent 10m race time.

Don't feel that you have to jump into base training if you're still not 100% TR. You would do yourself more good by getting properly better before jumping back into it and beating yourself up if you're not getting the results that you want.

Good sesson DT, got to keep the life balance in there, you're way to far away from Tokyo to sacrifice birthday nights out.
LMH - I'm not going to to too much this side of the New Year. Just try to find some consistency (I've had 4 ish zeros in the last 2 wks), and get on top of the s and c and exercises. No racing planned until February.

TR.. just getting into the popular races round here is tough enough. There are dozens of runners on the FB pages for Brass Monkey & Snake 10 begging for places. I do have a club 5m handicap race in Jan and assuming I am fit and well I'll look out for another race or two. How was the turbo session on your cuts and bruises?
DT19.. my knee is still bruised so I would describe it as slightly uncomfortable but not painful. It does seem to be healing slowly but surely. No harm in a birthday blow out, you still managed to get out for a decent loñgish run to blow away the cobwebs.
OO.. enjoy the taper towards Malaga, always nice to have an overseas marathon to look forward to. I did enjoy a break over there in recent years.
2 x 4m today, stopped raining here about 9.30 am so two dry runs. Surprised to see I've racked up 61m this week, first time over 60m since summer! I intend to celebrate with a nice curry and a beer or two.
