The fact that he is an MP would be an aggravating factor

He might not be stupid in some things, but he is moronic in others. The Gaza video was moronic beyond belief. A lot of what he says is so incoherent as to be unintelligible. Covfefe? "Stable genius"? "Person, woman, man, camera, TV." No one gets that right apparently, except the walking brain that is Donald Trump. |

Not quite, cricket interest comes from my scottish lineage and started with my dad and his two brothers and that filtered to me, my brother and one of our cousins. My english lineage supplied me with a man united strip |

I was born in Bradford, both my parents were, as were 3 of my 4 grandparents with the other in Sunderland. But other than that I've barely a clue. I could be any other heritage. Though there is some Irish lineage in there somewhere. |

I had 1 Cornish grandparent and 3 Scottish grandparents. 2 Cornish great-grandparents, 2 Irish great-grandparents and 4 Scottish great-grandparents. Beyond that I don't know.

jda wrote: I think it’s got a lot to do with smiting unbelievers too. Though isn’t that Old Testament and therefore not specifically Christian? Is there a theologian in the house? Christian, yes, theologian, only an amateur one! I don't think the whole Bible is being taken into account by many of the Trump supporters, regardless of what they profess to believe. Using text without context is a common habit. Smiting, and punishment are very much in there (in the OT in particular, although not exclusively) but it's not down to humans to be doing the smiting and judging for the most part. There's confirmation bias which means people who read it without an open mind see what they expect to find in it, and certainly cherry picking and choosing which bits you use to support a preconceived position, aka "proof texting" is considered poor form these days! One to take to another forum, though. ![]() |

So you're saying Trumps Christian fan base are charlatans? From what I see he'd be getting cast out of the temple. |

Not mine to judge, @richmac! ![]() Jesus wasn't too keen on the religious authorities of the day who should have known better, but he did say "give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's.". And he did also talk about false teachers, and there's plenty of warning in the bible about misusing it! |
