Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The Superbowl and a general election are definitely worth an all nighter. An away Ashes series less so.

Mid Bedfordshire 24,000 majority and held since 1931. Tamworth nearly 20,000 majority.

Labour get either one of those and the Conservative MP’s can all get busy tidying up their CV’s because they will get routed.

If we're doing sporting parlance, xG right now looks like Conservative (0.8) Labour (1.2) but they're thin markets.

Turnout in Tamworth reported as just 36%. That seems abject to me. Though I can several lower in the last year or so. Is that a trend in itself?

They're only by-elections so turnout will be lower, Labour increased their vote in one of the two, and was slightly down in the other.

But the Tories lost 20,000 and 26,000 votes respectively. How Sunak survives this is beyond me. Whatever happens to Labour votes up and down the country in a proper general election, losing 20,000 votes across the board and most MPs won't have a seat. Can't see how the knives won't be out or they're just counting down days until they lose one of their pay days.

You think the next Tory PM can't get any worse, but Sunak seems to have elevated that trend to a new level.

Well done the voters of Tamworth and Mid Beds.
