I've never seen it get all that bad. Typically, the first patch that appears is the biggest and baddest, and the rest are just little scaly ovals.

Yup, got the big patch, just hoping that no more little ones are going to appear.

If it's just the big patch, given where you're currently working, I'd be inclined to suspect ringworm.

No, it's not just the big patch, loads of little ones too.

Should I bother my GP with this? (worried about the ringworm now!)

Not if you're sure it's pityriasis rosea. There isn't much that your GP will be able to do about it.

Have had this. Hydrocortisone didn't seem to do much but it did go away on its own in the time period the GP said, so fingers crossed yours does too!

I have it most of the time on my chest, never goes away on its own but a single tablet gets rid of it within about week (don't know which one or if can be bought over the counter, sorry). It always starts to come back again within a few months, but as it doesn't cause any symptoms I don't bother going to the docs until it gets more widespread again. Always starts under the bottom of my sports bra line, then spreads down my stomach.

Sorry! I go to the docs about once a year and ask for 'the tablet that got rid of the rash on my belly the last time' ;-)
