Twinny - I'm RDing on Saturday & my hubbby is funnel manager so do come over and introduce yourself. My fellow RD is likely to have the RD vest on as I am on course set up but I'll try and post what I'm wearing ahead of Saturday so you can spot me. The course is stunning - a few little undulations - as you come up to the finish line on lap 1 and around the 2 mile mark but nothing too taxing. We describe it as "Yorkshire flat" ! The main tip is to arrive at the car park in plenty of time (I;d recommend by 8:30am) to find a parking spot and as it takes 10-15 minutes stroll down to the start from the car park and we have to lock the gate at 9am due to our licensing arrangement with the NT! |

At Cheltenham the RD always has a list of potential milestoners and calls out the names. We don't do anything special for the 50s apart from clap but for 100 you get to wear a centurion's cloak and (gold fabric) helmet, and for 250 (we've only had a couple of those) we have a special cloak made out of the hi-viz vests (minus ex-sponsors names) we had to destroy last time. At Poole the other week, they had a selection of hats including one for anyone whose birthday it is that day. |

Dv? There weren't barcodes in 2008?! You just rocked up and said your name and they searched the whole planet to try and find you? Glad they didn't know it was my 50th. I'd have been embarrassed to be called out. And actually, looking at the records, it was the 50th for about 5 of us. Bizarre! G |

Generally amongst our small group of friends a milestone run is usually accompanied by balloons:-) and often a message to the RD the night before, we had a shout out for a 200th on Saturday
