Great photo.

Fifth week in a row of barcode scanning for me. Think I might go pro!

Am marshalling next week for a change.

Down at Barnstaple last week and they had a couple of things that I'd not seen before. Firstly they had a list of potential milestoners and they were calling them out. At all other parkruns I've been to they ask milestoners to self-declare.

But more amusingly, when said milestoners came to the front they were presented with a super-hero cape to wear as they ran their milestone run! Now there are members of my family for whom that would be an exciting prospect. And also members of my family who would also happily sit on 49 parkruns if it meant they avoided that "humiliation"! Is this something other parkruns do? I do like the fact that each one gets to slightly customise the experience!

At Fountains Abbey we usually check before a run to see if anyone is on 49/99/249 etc and then ask if they are here that morning. We also ask for anyone else that is reaching a milestone on that day to rise their hands. We then do a shout out & cheer for them - but they don't have to wear any costumes! :)

At Moors Valley there were various hats for runners on Milestones. And for birthdays.

It's all good fun except when it's cold and wet, or you've got a busy day which requires getting home as soon as possible afterwards to maintain familial harmony.

I ran my 150th on Saturday, and it was mentioned in the briefing (I hadn't said anything to anyone as it's not an official milestone).

Like Fountains, Crane Park RDs (of whom I am one) do briefly scan the previous week's results to spot anyone who is potentially doing a significant run. We sometimes buy a runner a balloon to carry if we know they are going to be there.
