[1] Well, there are probably lots of things, but it's a common saying, innit.

Someone mentioned club vests at parkruns - not a fan. Don't mind other club-branded garb - long-sleeve shirts, hoodies etc - but I think vests should be for races

What about mob runs? There was one at Roundhay on my one and only visit, with vests and big pointy flags everywhere.

I think the phrase club vest should have read club colours - there was a discussion recently on FB and the chap who raised it said that he didn't like club runners wearin g kit as it was elitist but the replies in general said that it was club runners' way of saying here we are come and join us - the original poster did change his view.

And of course, not all parkruns are equal - some are very closely tied to a local running club, and that's evident in what the volunteers are wearing.

I have worn my club vest at every parkrun I have ever did, if any runner has ever had a problem with that then I am not aware of it. People may not want to admit to being so insecure about a piece of clothing in real life however.

I like seeing our local club kit at parkrun - makes it seem more accessible I think. I suspect a fair few of our parkrunners have joined the club as a result of parkrun.

The most common garb at my local run are race t-shirts. There have been a few people run in cardigans. What I have a fairly rational dislike of is Herbalife gear.

Wycombe Phoenix make a regular trip to Cardiff parkrun and everyone enjoys the friendly invasion of 25 or so pale blue vests - if they weren't wearing them then we would never know.
