The changing tent is what’s causing that shadow. The pontoon is great too, with a nice safe ladder.

Hello Swimmy Fetchies, hope you are all well. I have signed up for the Ullswater swim (7 miles) in July.
I need some training advice. I can swim in the pool up to 3 times a week at present and have about 45 mins on 2 days and an hour on the weekend one. I am dipping regularly in the sea.
How do I maximise my short training periods to get me fit enough for doing more once the open water is warm enough??
Does doing drills help, I got a kickboard and pullbuoy for Christmas but am not quite sure how to use them!
Thank you

I'm finding January just the most beautiful month for early morning swims actually - although this week the temps really dropped down the sunrises are stunning
Very lucky to have lots of options near me, including the river in the village but only at exactly the right tide time - limits how often I can swim here
Out of interest those of you who do distance swimming and the Lakes events - how long would you be in the water if you were doing the 7 mile version
I am in total awe of you all - I am not sure I will ever be at that level but do admire you all very much
Today we had a little beach party for one of our ladies who turned 70.. she amazes me every swim - she's really been able to change her health and drop alot of stress - finding swimming helps to ditch the worries and become calm for that short time - major plus for me too
Happy swimming all
P.s I found mittens the BEST after swim - chuck them on straight away and also sockless in crocs - how on earth that works I do not know but for me it's the quickest way to get my feet warm! Makes no sense

Insulation from the ground. You possibly lose more via conduction to the surface than via the air. I’m just guessing. There’s also the air pocket round the foot too which must be better than nothing!

sorry no one answered you. I am not the right person to ask but I would suggest the tri thread for good advice "TriSport Fetch: Smell of 220"

I think that was part of my afterdrop problem recently. I was standing in wet booties or bare feet on the pebbles.
