Good heavens, it *is* a Thing.
But I've only got it on one cheek, and there's definitely a bruise, not just redness.

The other cheek went red too, and I had a couple of days of feeling feverish and very tired, all of which corresponds to what the NHS website says about Slapped Cheek Syndrome, so I'm very impressed by LG's diagnostic abilities.
More-or-less back to normal now. Whatever that is.

Serendipity mentioned it could have been slapped cheek too. My son often tells me to remember I am the receptionist and not the GP but sometimes it helps. Glad you are on the mend.

Not only on the mend, but that much wiser about parvoviruses, one of which is the cause of the slapped cheek syndrome.
