I have run in Nike Pegasus shoes for years and have always found them a joy to run in...until now. My latest pair, Pegasus 29 seem to come up a bit smaller than usual and don't seem to have the same amount of cushioning. has anyone else noticed this.

That man from March
Sorry can't say I have. I have just bought my first pair for 3/4 years and did a short run in them this morning and they seem OK but they are just a bit narrower than the Nike Structures I normally wear.

Mine seem ok too in width - however the tongue seam either side of the laces is a bit rough & sticks into the bony bit on top of my foot sometimes if I don't keep the laces fairly slack, that never used to happen with the older ones.

I'm on my second pair of 29s having done 800 miles in a pair of 27s. I think the 29s are just spot on ... Very light and very comfortable - a big improvement.
I have small but wide feet.

I had 27s which were perfect, 28s I hated and the 29s are okay - bit high in the heel. Tried Flex and got on well with them for racing and tempo runs, until inury at XC (not in Nikes at all). I ran in men's 27s and 28s and am in ladies 29s which are a bit of a closer fit, but I was in men's shoes before. I have long narrow feet but a couple of big bunions so needed wider shoes. Was an asics user before. Then tried Brookes (bad move), then Nike and have been in Nike since.

I'm sure Nike change the shoes to make runners panic buy multiple pairs at a time.

Funny you should say about the stiff/sore glutes with the 29s - I've had that (stiff, sore just under butt cheeks sort of piriformis area) and not associated it with the shoes. I found my old 27s today and had a dog walk in them and they felt so nice! Will try my Thursday run in the 27s - there seems to be plenty of tread left and they feel pretty bouncy, so will see if that has an effect. I reckon it might be the drop on the heel with the 29s. Never had that issue before...
