Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Been for coffee with friend.
Mr LF is working from home. I'm not fit for work yet as my job is not the kind of thing where you can lapse for half an hour. (His job requires concentration but isn't public facing and has more latitude to switch tasks to something less demanding if he's feeling rough).

Our recycling collection was today, as was our green waste collection, and they also took our Christmas tree.

Back to alternate Mondays for the waste/recycling collections from next week.

I echo LF’s recommendation of House of Pain. It’s an excellently accessible book on the subject, very well written, and it made my blood boil.

Thanks for the recommendation. Another book to add to my list.

I hope Cuthbert had a successful morning.

I've moved some fallen leaves and put some food in the slow cooker for later.

really looking forward to my run - at least it's going in the right direction home and less undulating!

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
