It's the aniseed flavour I like.

Get the same effect as fennel with Pernod. The world goes a bit spinny if you overdo it.

Upvote for fennel in salad (people who don't like it can pick it out), braised (like celery with character - though that is an aniseed personality), or as part of a tomato sauce. Tricky stuff to grow as it bolts before it bulbs, given half a chance. But I like liquorice flavours (except caraway seeds - uggg).

I like grating it into parcels with salmon or trout.

I’m not sure I’ve ever knowingly eaten fennel.
Trying to decide what to do with myself. Dressed to run but tired. (Not out of bed until 11am) Was going to fence paint but it’s a bit cold.

Been for a hot run. OH is going to cook omelettes. Discussing food for the future. Need to hang out washing and shower.

I love the taste of fennel as an ingredient. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten it alone
