I believe "peely wally" to be correct. That's how the Sunday Post doc used to spell it.

Plumbers have been and gone. Downstairs loo and tap fixed; upstairs loo fixed, as anticipated, new shower needed in en-suite.

Other non-mundane news: have ordered another pair of prescription swimming goggles. The first pair was a huge success so I'm getting a pair to keep at the seaside. Bit like how I've built up a full drawer of running kit and shoes down there, so I am ready for most activities without having to remember to pack them here. All I need now is a bike to keep down there permanently ;-)

Re 'peely wally' above: a reggae singer called Eek-A-Mouse released a song called 'Peeni Walli' about being knocked off his bicycle. The lyrics include:

"When the bike really hit me
I see stars and peeni walli"....

There's a definition of 'peeny wally' here - I make no claims to its accuracy - a firefly.

Mundane enough? ;)

I've eaten 2/3 of my lunch. I might have the last 1/3rd now. I'm not hungry, just easily distracted by food.

In LG’s absence, I can confirm it is peely-wally.

You'd think being the daughter of a cheuchter and a toonser would make me fluent. It's a bit like my French, I can understand a lot of Doric, speak a little but I'd be shit at writing it.

I got a pay award in September; the increased tax and pension contributions resulted in a pay cut.

Tea. I was ski-ing but I got tired, so I came in.

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
