I’m nervous to ask, but did you like or hate The Silencers?

I liked it on the first listen, it sounded almost familiar. Maybe they were the sort of band that got played occasionally but not enough to really stick in the memory at the time. It's very 80s, but in a good way It's nice to discover bands that passed me by so thanks for the suggestion!
I'll blog about it once I've listened to it a couple of more times.

Now listening to Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective as my 2009 choice. I’ve only got as far as the third track, and am already confused by the random/irregular rhythm of the drum and bass components.

Played the whole album twice now. A bit too random and chaotic for me.

I'm done, after 18 months and 52 albums (cos that's what how old I are). I have blogged every review individually and have just blogged a summary for your pleasure, comparison and cross-referencing as ye see fit.

I've punted out another four blog posts, https://www.fetcheveryone.com/blog/36581, with my own favourite albums from every year 1966-2017 for anyone who is looking for some recommendations for their own LTAAFEYOYL challenge.
That's me done with blogs on the subject. No more music by the suckers.

Truly, a labour of love, Fitz. I've enjoyed reading the how, when and why of your selections.

Off to look for a 2013 choice now, having listened to
2010: High Violet by the National 2011: Burst Apart by the Antlers 2012: Lonerism by Tame Impala
The National and Antlers albums are both decent, but I don't find myself drawn back to them for repeat playings. Tame Impala is quite different though, and it's commanded quite a lot of repeat plays.
