I read that it is vile in water but ok in a smoothie so I will report back! Got mine today from Holland and Barrett for £12.99 for 200g and could have had another one for half price but figured I would try it first! A teaspoon will give about 4g of protein I reckon.

First algae smoothie made. It is VERY green! Used 1 teaspoon. To be honest I can't taste it but then smoothie is lemon, ginger, turmeric and banana so it had a lot to contend with!

We've been using PHD diet whey powder for a while - the belgian chocolate one ain't bad, and Holland & Barrett have it on offer fairly often (last time I almost bought it in Tesco, then went back when H & B was open, and it was half the price.

Have some nice bruises on my hips/pelvis from doing glute raises with a 15kg bar last night, and getting some nice doms from bulgarian lunges with the bar as well.

I get bruises from glute bridges with the bar. H & B are an oddity, some stuff is silly expensive and other stuff is lots cheaper!

I know - I very nearly just bought the Tesco one, as I didn't think there would be much difference, but the guy said it had gone on offer that morning!

PT wants me to try a heavier bar next time, and has promised he will give me a bar pad to use... Think next week will be more upper body work though, as I have a local 10k on the Saturday.

Made lots of effort today and I think I managed about 80g protein but enjoyed all the food. I need to keep my focus and not slip back in to my lazy ways of toast/rice cakes/toast/rice cakes!

Well I may be able to deadlift 60kg but I managed to hurt my back doing the weeding! Pfft!

60kg is very good, Brig! That's a lot more than you weigh!

Great training over the weekend - fuelled by alcohol 😂😂
Strongman type circuit on Saturday and 121 session yesterday, with deadlifts and squats at comp weight
Coach was happy - apparently I am further on that he thought I would be at this stage, so aiming for a deadlift pb in 3-4 weeks.

Loving my training at the moment

Well done Duracell! Where do you find out about competitions? I would love to go and watch one to get a feel for what I need to be achieving

Mine is a bit of a cheat, Brig - it is being organised by my coach...
There is a FB group as well - strong woman's events

About This Thread

... a weights wire for women.

And in case you're wondering about that title, well, I like alliteration and one can be too po-faced about the use of girl/lady/woman.

Here's a strength standards for women thing Duracel found for us
