16:8 for me today.

And thanks again to RoseHip for the suggestion about MyFitnessPal. Really helpful.

I was under yesterday, let's hope I can replicate that over the next days/weeks/months, at least until July 24th ;-)

The reason I'm using myfitnesspal is to prepare for maintenance when I reach my goal. What normally happens is I gradually put it all back on again after taking the brakes off. I need to figure out how to stop that happening.

Had a huge calorie deficit yesterday after an 18km run and lost a bit again today. Never know if that's just water weight though.

Great work azx.
I think maintenance is every bit as hard as losing!

Glycogen is stored with about 4x its weight of water - if I'm remembering that right - so yes some of what you've gone down by is water and once you eat carbs and drink you will bounce up a bit as you refuel your muscles for next time. Hopefully, a reasonable proportion of the fuel you used was fat, which might also be stored with water - I can't remember - and hopefully, you won't replace that.

I went down nearly 2lb after 12 miles on Monday and this morning I was back up just over 1lb.

On a whim, I pulled out a pair of 32" waist trousers from the cupboard this afternoon, and I could actually button them up. Result! They're a bit tight, but 2 months ago there wouldn't have been a hope in hell I could do them up. Currently at BMI 25.5 but looking good. Hope everyone else is making progress.

That’s great and definitely where I want to be. I can see the difference on my last pair of Jeans which fit! Almost time to try the next size down!

Only Day #2 of recording and watching calories and I'm finding it really tough.

I hadn't realised until now how calorific my 'normal' eating is....

Heaven forbid I'd have recorded before stopping alcohol. I must have been 3,000-4,000 calories a day very regulalry.

So, Fenners,

now you know what you were eating, you know how much you run etc,

how quickly were you putting on weight? do you use it when running high milage? think about that before jumping in with mfp's or anyone else's calculations of how many cals you need - it's better not to cut too much and make it too hard on yourself.

I'm disappointed my excess lardage didn't start melting away as soon as I stopped drinking, but other people seem to find it a simple way to drop pounds.
