Hi all, browsing fetch and saw this thread so thought I’d pop in. After not swimming since the pools shut a second time for COVID in December 2020, my costume has come back out of retirement due to an injury that looks like stopping me running for a while I’d forgotten how much I enjoy it, and the fact there is a pool 5 minutes from my house is very handy (even if the fact it’s 20m means lots of laps!) I’ve been back at it a week and up to 2.5km in 68 minutes today so I’ve decided to aim for an Ironman distance swim- a good distraction from not being able to run! I look forward to learning lots from the thread |

Has anybody suffered from dry eyes after swimming and got any tips? I’m doing quite long distances and finding my eyes quite dry and tired (I do wear goggles)

I've just dug out my Swim Smooth book and will look for tips to improve my swimming. I've not been for ages and I'm very slow. None of it comes very natural to me yet, though I can keep going for a fair while since having swimming lessons a couple of years ago. I'm using a 16m pool now and that spoils the flow a bit, but it's not busy so I can at least swim up and down without interruption. |

Did 750m this morning in a mostly empty lane. I really need to go more often, only went today as I booked the session the day before and I didn't want to waste £4.30!

@Little Nemo well done! I paid for a few months of my pool membership upfront to make sure I would keep using it @LindsD thank you for the recommendation. Once I stopped squirting these on my face and actually managed to get some in my eyes they are definitely helping |
