Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

fozzy - Sportives aren't races.
A bit like most running road races, they are just organised events where you sometimes get a time (for most people!)

If we are talking about events where you've targeted a time, then just one!

Under the 'rules' (my rules, which were in the first post of the thread), a race is any event where there are published results with times and/or positions. Therefore parkruns are races (they're only not called races for insurance reasons anyway, which is bizarre), time trials are races, sportives are races etc.....

That's the self-consistentcy check I use.

Anyway off for no81. 82 and 83 this afternoon.

Ah! OK - so we apply different criteria.

In which case, I have no idea, because 'things' I do which I poddle round aren't on my race radar. So probably still, one! :)

Having run London last year, running 10k of it is enough to make anyone ill ;-)

You should try a sensible race. Like the 3 Peaks.

83 after this weekend - a triple yesterday. Bit too broken to add any more in time today and still get to hockey this afternoon, so unusually had a sunday without a race.

Will make up for it with a midweek race. And I've got a bonus race I wasn't expecting next Sunday (originally was supposed to be planning an O event, but it's been cancelled, so I'm at a loose end...)

About This Thread

Title says it all - how many races have you done this (calendar) year.

Races are anything that produces published results (either paper or online or anything similar) with times and/or positions.

This therefore includes (but not limited to): Road Races, Fell Races, Cycle Races, Triathlons, Aquathlons, Duathlons, Parkruns (whether you actually "raced" them or not), Orienteering races, Track races (i.e. any T&F), Cross Country, Trail Races, Sportives, Adventure races, Mountain Marathons, Crits, time trials etc.....

Races with multiple stages with an overall result (a la tour de France) are separate races if there are results published for each day. So, 2 day Mountain Marathons are 2 races.

Adventure races where it is continuous = 1 race.

Parkruns are Races!! End of.
