Fergus, I share youre pain, I did 3:00:57 at London last year...hoping to find the 58 seconds next weekend :-)

Chesterin early October is a good oneto look at...well organised, PBable route, albeit the l;ast few miles have a bit more up than is ideal, but you can plan around that....

Fergus - Valencia or Amsterdam. I cannot imagine a faster course than either of those 2 pancakes.

having had a previous PB of 4:00:10 I was keen to shave off 11 seconds. I managed it at Manchester so can retire happy!

I'm assuming a UK event would be cheaper and simpler, so I'll have a good look at Chester after all the good press it has had here. Gloucester looks like a potential too, so I'll have to read up on that one too. Maybe Valencia and Amsterdam will feature on my 2017 wish list!

Abingdon is fast and flat too Fergus, and still open, but usually fills up quickly

Metro_Nome - I was thinking about Manchester Half. It's the same day as Birmingham Half and Amsterdam though so waiting for the wife to decide which one she wants to run :(

I'm doing the Manchester Half - it will be my first race in a new age category (by 3 days!)

I'll definitely be taking up the offer of a place for £35 for next year. I'm a bit gutted now that I entered Manchester Half when it first opened, as I'd have used the 40% discount for that (but given I wasn't effected by the baggage fiasco it seems a little churlish to ask for a refund of 40%).

At least there might be another chance for a Fetchie meet-up at the Half then :) (looking on the bright side!)
