Nelly - generally about 200m is seen as a short limit - although some go as short as 150m. Heard of one guy who used 75m - it didn't get certified as a result

OC - that's really informative, thank you.

As PtB says the statement claims that the error only accounts for only about 50% of the inaccuracy. Presumably being 1.5m out on the calibration course is equally unbelievable?

The only error I can identify in that system is within the calculations at the end. So somebody got their calcs wrong, and the checker of said calcs hasn't done their job properly?

Of course an RD has the responsibility to at least verify/check a course accuracy if they're getting dozens of people running exceptional times, and reporting short distances on their GPS devices. It's the RD's race, after all. RD takes ultimate responsibility for their own race.

re-certified doesn't necessarily mean re-measured.

The fall out continues... coursemeasurement.org.uk

It's really sad to see so many "quick" local races on that list.

I've just seen this too and posted the same link on the Manchester Marathon thread. I suppose it sort of vindicates Manchester Marathon a bit actually.
