Anyone participated in a penalty shootout? Not quite the same amount of pressure, but a fairly intense.

I have twice. Once in a five-a-side (scored and we won) and in a senior school semi-final (due to take the seventh but we won before sudden death).

Yup twice. I took two genuinely dreadful penalties, scored both and looked like I sent the keeper the wrong way. Nope. I was just focused on passing it into the net. We won both somehow.

I actually declined one near the end of my football - said I would take the 6th if it came to it. In fairness, it was my first game back after a 5 year break (I was 40 by then) and had played 120 minutes in midfield.

TRO, how many kicks did Johnny Wilkinson get to make in a pressure situation every game?

Possibly more than some of the players in both teams have had in their careers.

Took pens in two games, once when I scored two in the same shoutout after we won 15-14!

Next was in a 7 a side tournament and I missed, we lost that one.

I’ve avoided this thread and social media today because I was so disappointed and upset with the way things have panned out over the last few days. I’d had enough of the fans and the media and the politicians and other fuckwits, and was ready to see any more.

This is a place of reasoned discussion, but those other places, well, it’s almost put me off of the game completely.

Then it came to me, everything was fine until we allowed the fans back in, and the more they let on the worse it got.

It’s sad.
