Thanks! I already have quite a few for different keys, including a high one (same pitch as a descant recorder) in carbon fibre which is so good that I'd like a more soulful version an octave lower, which is naturally more expensive and more involved to make, to minimize the hand-stretch.

I’d not considered carbon fiber as a material for instruments before. I found this article quite interesting tencom.com

Yes, that's interesting. For me, it's the consistency and exactness of the construction/tuning, the lightness, and the lack of warm-up time cf. wood.

A tour of Troldhaugen today, including Grieg’s house and the hut where he did his composing, then a short piano recital. Lovely.

If you get chance, In the bleak midWinniefree, visit Stavanger, or, even better, take the ferry ride there from Bergen. This Scottish guy tried it, and he also compared the two towns in another video.

My first clarinet gig went as well as I could've hoped for.

I went to the first meeting of the Witney Guitar Club last night.
It was started for men to have an opportunity to meet up, play some acoustic guitar, sing, chat and generally socialise.

In time the plan is to build up a repertoire and to do a tour of local (welcoming) pubs where we’ll perform two or three songs before moving on. There maybe performances at local community events too. Being totally acoustic, there should be few logistical problems in setting up.

We’ve started on two songs: “No Hard Feelings” by The Avett Brothers, and “Waiting On A Sunny Day” by Bruce Springsteen.

A good mix of people playing lead, finger picking and strumming, and singing too.

Great fun!
