Back sleeping in my own bed for the first time in 78 days. We probably spent about 40 nights in the van; we rented a couple of places just to make life a bit easier with the dog. A smidge over 3,800 miles. Most nights we camped in Aires so our total campsite cost was less than 100 euros. I'm already thinking about next January. |

Great stuff, XB. Might have to try what you do next winter. Will probably have to pick your brains though …

It does sound superb, XB - the perfect way to use the camper van. We have been discussing the possibility to going Spain-wards next winter in ours. We really enjoyed being in warm sunshine on our recent holiday.

Had a lovely couple of nights at Borrowdale campsite. Really lovely site and great location near Derwentwater. Saw loads of wildlife on the site, including red squirrels right next to the van and a super friendly robin. Great spot for my first climb of Catbells |

Great spot for my first climb of Catbells I think everyone remembers their first climb of Catbells. Mine was the hard way, straight up the side from Newlands with Dave A. We'd been drinking in Keswick the night before and both had hangovers, I remember finding a dead sheep halfway up and let's just say it was a queasy moment. |
