We’ve got a couple of local suppliers of the 907 Camping Gaz cylinders. I think Calor keep the deliveries going as much as they can to tourist areas like South Devon (which of course means that supplies are run down pretty quickly too!), so we can usually get a refill within a few days.

Having said that, I always have a full bottle in reserve anyway, so we have a reasonable buffer.

We have acquired an expensive and tiny little camping gaz cylinder! I suspect the Trangia will remain as a backup ;-)
My one and only (American) motorhome, many years ago, had an lpg tank which we filled at normal petrol stations. I thought it was a great system.

Hadn't heard of the shortage on 6kg propane, although maybe explains when I ordered 2 cylinders for work yesterday my supplier told me they had none until next week and were 4 short of an order for 28 going out that day.
I expect we are going to experience a whole manner of shortages for all sorts of things.

It’s one complaint I’ve got about my van, and it’s that it uses campingaz, which is expensive. I would change, but the cupboard for the gas in my conversion won’t fit anything bigger. It’s not all that easy to come across, but I’ve got two cylinders, so all being well I’m never desperate to find a refill.

Are you stuck with campingaz? I am not familiar with that in particular; is it the self sealing spin on type that you might find on small backpacking stoves?
Can the regulator not be changed to take regular propane or butane?
