 I love LTTs
Counted 27 swifts over mum’s garden this evening, there may have been more or maybe a couple fewer, but it’s the most we’ve seen here for three or four years

We've been getting little mixed flocks of blue tit, great tit and LTT youngsters on the feeders.

Just popping in for the wisdom of the fetch birdwatchers.
Last evening we had a swooper into the front garden and helped itself to a pigeon (as evidenced in the front of the photo)
It got spooked by a couple of people walking past and left the pigeon by the gate. Himself disposed of the remains earlier but the bird has just reappeared to find its kill!
Please tell us what it is - peregrine, kestrel, sparrow hawk, something else?

We got mobbed by Long Tail Tits again yesterday. 10 -12 for 30 mins or so, in and out the trees, at the feeders and the bath.
Are they nomadic and fly around? It's about a week since they were last here. Or at least, since we saw them here.

I ran a half marathon race this morning near Great Yarmouth, and on the way over there a marsh harrier swooped down just metres from my car.

A short glimpse of a green woodpecker today. Although I did see it initially take off and fly away from me, a bit like you DT it was the call that gave it away. I initially thought it was yellow, then when the internal monologue, started "I wonder if it was a green ...", he laughed away and gave his identity away.
