I heard a curlew calling whilst in the garden yesterday (I was in the garden, not the curlew!) , they're still pretty common in this corner of West Yorkshire at least.
Also a pair of golden plover flew over, I think they have the most adorable call of all waders

I’ve not heard a curlew yet from our garden but they generally can be heard in spring. Cuckoo is possible too

A couple of years ago a cuckoo thought it was a good idea to sit in a tree just over the road facing our open bedroom window and call really loudly at 4am. Both exciting and really bloomin' annoying!

They were bold in lockdown and I saw and heard birds much closer to residential areas than normal including in the car park in Haworth you run above at the end of the Hobble

Some way off Um's standards but playing with a new toy today I captured this incoming Chiff which rather neatly captures the dark leg colour that an be used to separate them from the near identical but pale legged Willow Warblers.
