I see goldfinches fairly regularly near me, (within a mile of my house) but have yet to attract them to the garden.
We are slowly increasing in numbers of what is coming to the garden. Had male and female blackbirds this morning (never had both at same time), dunnock everyday, 2 magpies every day, a few pigeons. And theres a frog as well.

Quite a few buzzards around at the moment. Is it the hot dry weather? Or fairly new growth in fields making hunting easier?
Although they are straining the reach of my lens, and tempting me to spend £££ on a better one.

I'm not sure what seeds we currently have out, theres a mixture, just what we have left currently. I'm surprised we are getting as much activity as we are with it still being primarily a building site and most of the gardens around us not even having turf.

We're lucky to have a couple of buzzards (the third seems to have moved on recently - last year's youngest pushed away?) that circle around outside the house most days, generally being mobbed by hoards of jackdaws. Always wonder why they don't fight back.
K has been hearing a WW from the back yard for days but I struggle to distinguish the song. Managed to pick it up yesterday evening while sat out with a post-work beer. I think I know the solution...

Love seeing buzzards, saw my regular on what is now my regular long run.
Star of the show this morning was a stunning male chaffinch though. Beautiful bird.
