The service from our main dealer this time has been shocking. We know of other people who have had similar problems recently with a vehicle from new from the same dealership which is now on it's third engine in 40,000 miles!
This car is the fourth of this make of car that I have owned and up until now I never thought I would buy any different brand (in fact its why I am not saying what it is because I really can't believe that the make as a whole is rubbish). I do have a courtesy car from them but it is not the same (its a smaller car and most basic model) and their T&C say you can't take a dog in it which I asked after a couple of weeks for them to lift that restriction because I can't always guarantee that if I need to go to dog training or whatever BaronBRs car will always be available to me.

VW. I have a Golf. I have had two Golfs previously and thought they were brilliant and a Polo which was a 1.9 and six gears and they don't make them like that any more but if they did I would never buy anything different (at least before all this happened)

Those 1.9 TDi Polos were brilliant cars, I always fancied one. Saw a very nice two door version the other day.

We've been debating getting a 2nd car (or a campervan!) for transporting tents, bikes etc. Now I've started a job somewhere very awkward to get to by public transport, Mr W has succumbed to an old skool Volvo estate again. I just hope it's reliable and he drives it economically...

Well, it’s been a while. Just replaced the offside air suspension bag. Such a great job: seems really complicated, results are impressive, only takes an hour or so on the drive. Loads and loads of bang for your buck. Lovely!

Reading back, I realise that me and FlyingScotsman also removed, refurbished and reinstalled the starter motor since we last spoke.
