Northern Exile - not particularly bagging them, but I find those books easier to read than AW's (heresy, I know). I think it's a typeface thing I'm using the 'old' series (e.g. Northern fells) rather than the most recent editions (e.g. 'Keswick') I think there are a few more fells in the new series, but I've never checked which ones they are |

Yes, that's right - it was a consequence of the widening of the national park boundaries a couple of years back. They're the tops around the "other" Borrowdale to the west of Tebay, I can't remember their names now but it's a nice circuit.

That makes sense - the new ones in the 'Far East' are Grayrigg Forest, Whinfell Beacon and Winterscleugh. Like you say in the 'other' Borrowdale between the A6 and M6

That's the ones. I parked in the layby under Jeffrey's Mount and went from there.

Always looks appealing, but never enough to stop there yet!

Surely that's Steel Knotts otherwise known as Pikewassa? ๐ Seriously though, it sounds great - I love Martindale, hope you have a terrific week.

Can anyone tell me if there are any fell races/events which go through/close by Crosthwaite?
