Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm sorry to hear that your sister took her frustrations out on your mum XB. I'm sure she regrets it. I hope that the external help takes some of the pressure off.

Some of you may know that my mother died from Covid in her care home a couple of weeks ago. I have now been able to recover some of her belongings and in particular the much treasured and very old family photo album. I had chance this morning to have a look at it and I'm traumatised to find that she has decided to rewrite history. The whole album has been striped and re-ordered to show I suppose what she wanted it to portray of her life. No sign of the photos that she had taken out..... most of my childhood memories gone. I cant tell you how upset I am.

Also: After someone dies, if their home insurance was only in their name, sadly the cover becomes void. But if the policy was in joint names, it will still cover the surviving policyholder (though the names on the policy will need to be updated).

Pension Credit. The rules are a bit complex but if your elderly relative has some sort of disability (in this case dementia/Alzheimer's) and go into a home, they may be able to claim pension credit. So if carers allowance stops, it seems pension credit can start. It can also be backdated.
