I LOVE the Makaton thing.
I used to be a sign language interpreter back in the Netherlands. The only one EVER to learn the sogn language without having deaf children/partners/relatives. I was working for the court and was assigned a case by the judge, social care thing, of an Italian adult mother with learning difficulties and her baby with severe learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
She only spoke a Sicilian dialect, to complicate matters!
I started signing, intuitively, it worked, paired with spoken word. If only I had known about Makaton.
Anyway, the judge urged me to train in sign language, as there were no interpreters at all!!!

I now fancy learning Makaton, to communicate better with everyone in my Naturopathy and Yoga Therapy practice.

I had trouble choosing between 2 newts. Fields choosing to go to the Sky Garden. Heights give me the heebie-jeebies so actually choosing to go somewhere high as a pleasurable, leisure experience is beyond me and deserves recognition and BaronessBL for going on the Makaton course.
I think for the way it’s precipitated further learning for others & that it can be used in a wider context to help other people I’m choosing BaronessBL and the Makaton course as winner.
