Crowthorne, Berkshire. On the Google map it doesn't look that far from Sandhurst which I think is an army training place. They are completely unrelated but I found their apparent proximity mildly interesting.

Oh, that is interesting. From my poor memory, there is an army training camp near there as well...

I knew that Palm Sunday was the start of Holy Week and I knew that Palm Sunday was 40 days since Lent started so I had assumed Lent finished on Palm Sunday - but I had also heard that Sundays and in particular Mothering Sunday didn't 'count' which I always took to mean that if you had given up (say) chocolate for Lent you had 24 hours on a Sunday to eat as much as you possibly could before having to give up again for another six days.
As you might be able to tell - I'm not much of a church-goer!

Our magnolia is in bud but not flowering yet, an orchid is in flower though, first this spring, talking of flowers I treated myself to some tulips for Mothering Sunday as my last lot were right at the very end, I love tulips, even when they are dying off they are still beautiful.

What a day I’ve had. I did Mother’s Day gift drop off, being very fortunate to have 2 amazing mums in our life and we dropped of SD gifts today.
I then had the pleasure of a MD run with my mum (Geordiemum). 6 weeks of injury she had ran almost 12m this week. A 76 year old ledge!!!
Steak and chips tonight for a (non) Mother’s Day, I don’t have kids, not by choice, and lockdown makes me sad that I’m losing contact with the kids I was there for. Hope it comes back.
But this is a day to celebrate the mums. The mums who became teachers the mums who have kept their shit together.... you are all bloody hero’s.
And I will still be the crazy auntie at the end of this shit.
Mothers, grans, sisters, aunties celebrate your awesomeness

Mrs Jigs, lovely orchid!
I love tips too, funny enough especially when they are going over.
I am about to drop my Newt-ish car into the bodyshop for a repair caused by a "friend" bumping into it, saying they'd sort it, that is why we have insurance, only to find that several months later they refuse to sort it, tell me to pay (£1400) and to not do it through insurance as that is THEIR prerogative??? They used to be my best friends. They were my Covid bubble. I am grieving the loss of the friendship. It is what covid and its restrictions do to people. Let's just say they have gone down the Q-anon, Trump worshipping rabbit hole. I have not...
It is very very sad! I have never lost friends before, especially not like this.
Right, going to get the car sorted on MY insurance. Costs me my no claims and my excess, but I do have legal insurance so they say they will claim it all back... Very unpleasant!

Sharkie, the white frock was for First Holy Communion. You don't get to wear anything special for Confirmation. Well, we didn't anyway. First Communion at age 7 and Confirmation in my school at age 10, which was frankly far too young to know what we were doing. I think that my Catholic secondary school may have had some rule about only accepting confirmed Catholics. Wouldn't be allowed these days!
Newt for the day - I have an appointment with a dental hygenist for the first time >10 years. It's going to hurt. There was talk of 'deep root cleaning'.

So today is the first day of trying my new tiny habits.
1. whenever I put the kettle on I will take a sip of water and say 'nice!' 2. when I switch my computer off for the day, I will close my eyes and take 3 deep breaths and say 'OK!' 3. When I sit down for breakfast I will put my device aside and just listen for 30 seconds, then pump my fist and say yes.
The idea is you find a habit you already have to hook your new habit onto and you celebrate each time - hence the format above.

[whoa, that is a weird way to behave, Han. Has something 'happened' to them to make them that way, I wonder?]
