It's a real shame how weak the Windies are these days.

Thank God for YouTube, I can remind myself how good the West Indies once were, normally at England's expense!

Atonal Miserabilist (AFKA TRO)
A tragic farce of a match and a sad day for cricket. Poor spectacle, and I fear the next two will be similar - it's terrible prep for the Ashes, no way to sharpen up or expose weaknesses.

If the WI are in a mess that is thier problem.

Relegate them to a 1 test match series per 5 years.

Not great for Windies st all but a great day to be an England fan at the ground 😀

The opposition won't be great this series but if England can gain confidence from easy wins, confidence breeds success, it could still be good for the Ashes.

Earlier this season I remember hearing an member of a certain age and type [think the major in Fawlty Towers] at the County Ground saying something along the lines of we'd be better off having Rhodesia [sic] come over for a test series because at least there'd be a point to it, even if it is only rehabilitation of a pariah side. There is no [according to him] point in a full WI tour at the moment and they should be relegated to a single test at Chester-le-Street in April or September.

I'm starting to see his point.

England have been rubbish in the past (series ;)). They have a decent side now. I hope Windies will be back again soon. They have too much talent to be down for long

The incident with getting ball back into the party stand was hilarious. Cameras only picked up the end of it. What they didn't show, I don't think, was the crowd chanting for the ball back. Or the guy dressed as Jesus being chanted at "JESUS, SORT IT OUT, JESUS JESUS SORT IT OUT." He then approached the steward and gestured for the ballback. Then the Hare Krishna's and everyone else slowly joined him.
