It should be Jordan but at the end of the day West Indies knew they had to go for it so Stokes had to be perfect.

Completely agree with the Tup. Losing with only two balls to go is no humiliation. Cracking match.

Lost it, won it, lost it. I feel sorry for Stokes, but maybe a lesson in how to bowl a decent Yorker might help.

Don't feel sorry for him, he bowled 4 consecutive leg stump half volleys. Same ball, same result. Stupid.

Yep, poor Stokes didn't perform under pressure, but second in the tournament is no great disgrace. Losing the toss didn't help. Overall, it was a good tournament for England.

Runners up is better than expected. Plenty to build on. Just a very limp way to lose the final.

Agree. Think of the way we limped out of the 50 over World Cup just over a year ago. Windies players have been playing IPL (indeed there are barely barely interested in test cricket these days) so not surprising they had a bit much at the death.

Should have bowled Jordan for the final over ;-) never thought I'd say that.

Really we were 20 odd runs light and did very well to almost defend it; using Root early was genius. Young side, learning the ropes, and we did well, and I'm happy with that.

yes they did brillianty to recover from the first game of the tournament, to beat SL and to recover that kast game where they could have won at the end. Not a great 4 balls by Stokes, they all looked the same to me, mind you another 6 inches up the pitch and they would have been fine. The first 6 un-nerved him if you ask me.

Rashid bowled excellently.....No complaints really...

good result in reality, I watched England in all their games here in NZ in last years world cup and they were shocking. very nice to see a big turnaround in their fortunes.
