Harry Pilling was a distant relative of mine (I think he was a couple of inches over 5 foot) and Clive Lloyd was one of my childhood heroes, so good choices

+5' 2" if my memory serves. I remember Clive Lloyd, who had about a 2 yard stride, being asked if he found it a problem batting with Harry - his reply was something along the lines that yes, he was worried about treading on him.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I saw Martin Crowe score a ton in Zimbabwe. I know not many people can say that as the crowd was on the non-existant side of sparse. Didn't see a lot of cricket in the flesh living in Scotland, the US and Malawi for most of my life. Michael Holding on the bowling side, David Gower or Mark Waugh for classy batting. Saw Sachin once when I lived in the Caribbean but was so drunk (trying to match the rum swilling locals with my bottle of whisky) I don't remember much. Bowled against a few 1st class players which was an education. And once avoided facing a swift West Indian pro, at No. 11 I had no qualms about stepping on the umpires toes as I backed away from the ball but my last wicket partner didn't last long enough to allow me the 'pleasure'. |

Scotland in 'mediocre bowling' shock. would have taken a 150/160 chase, but Afghanistan have got too much I fancy. the wait goes on...
